Our Father who art in heaven

"Our Father..."

Already, these words sound like an ancient and new breath,

like a spring that whispers in my soul

or rather in our soul:

Since you are not only mine.

Not only for me.

You are “Our Father!”

You are not alone.

You are Father of the Son,

of the Beloved Son, in whom you place all your love.

You are Love, the Source of all love.

You are Light, You are Breath.

In the Son and the Holy Spirit...

"Our Father..."

Not just mine. Not only for me.

A secret bond unites us, invisibly:

all your children, scattered and wounded,

linked in your light,

summoned in your forgiveness.

You are the Father of the other,

even the one I misunderstand,

even the one I fear.

You are ours, not just mine.

“Our”…

This is communion in the making.

It is the beginning of the Kingdom..
