"Our Father!",

You are the Father of children who are kings,

admired from the start,

acclaimed as prodigies,

and yet sometimes crushed

by what is expected of them.

You love them beyond success or image.

You want them to be simple and free,

children of silence, children of truth.

You are also the Father of spoiled children,

fulfilled but empty,

surrounded but alone,

caught up in a whirlwind of desires

that never satisfy them.

You alone know what they are really looking for.

You are “Father”.

Not of a few,

but of all.

You take away no one of  dignity as a child.

Even when we take it away from one another,

You silently give it back.

So teach me your gaze,

"Father" with maternal womb,

so that I may see the brother in the enemy,

the Son in the rejected,

your Face in the damaged face.

Let my prayer widen,

until it embraces your love.

And may I say every day,

with more fire, more faith, more hope:

“Our Father!”
